After some sleep, I ventured forth on the subway as it was a
very short walk from my hotel. For about
35 cents I arrived right at the entrance to the Forbidden City. As you can see I was not the only one there.
If nothing else the size is impressive. Most of the buildings are empty, but one can
imagine what it must have like at the height of the empire.
Several of the buildings did have some furnishings from the
rulers just before the revolution in the early 1900’s.
